Loaves & Fishes provides free food support to more than 100 organizations, serving 40 communities across Vancouver Island. In 2024 alone, we distributed over $3.3 million worth of food to our dedicated Community Partners, ensuring that those in need receive essential support at no cost.

How to become a Loaves & Fishes Community Partner

To become a Community Partner with Loaves & Fishes, and to renew your partnership annually, you’ll follow the same requirements and steps each year as you do in your first application.

Requirements:

To receive food support from Loaves & Fishes, an organization must be one of the following:

1) A registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or

2) A municipal or public body performing a function of government in Canada (i.e., school or indigenous community).

Capacity:

For all new applications and annual re‑applications, the Loaves & Fishes management team will assess operational capacity — including trucking schedules (pickups and deliveries), trucking availability, and current food volumes — to determine whether we can support an additional or continuing Community Partner.
